Sharing a picture of the popular North Indian dish chole bhature on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote that “80% of Indians are not vegetarians” and added that Indian non-vegetarian food is “very tasty,” like the chole bhature made by his sister.

The two-day BRICS Summit, held at Bharat Mandapam, featured an Indian-style vegetarian feast for the participating guests. Dishes prepared using millets were given considerable importance in the menu. The food arrangements also focused on traditional Indian flavours and local food practices.

The summit is scheduled to conclude today. Against the backdrop of escalating tensions in West Asia, the BRICS Summit, through a joint statement, called for maximum restraint and urged countries to avoid steps that could further worsen the situation.
